Xylanase: A way to curb menacing effect of NSPs

 


The poultry industry is one of the most dynamic industries in the agricultural business world, and feed is the backbone of this industry. However, with feed raw material prices rising, making quality feed at affordable prices has become a challenge for the poultry industry. Another option for minimizing the impact of rising conventional feed ingredient prices is to use unconventional feed ingredients. Most of these products contain high levels of plant cell wall (non-starch polysaccharides) (NSPs) that are not digested by endogenous enzymes, but we can overcome this problem by supplementing exogenous NSPase depending on the source of proteins in poultry.
